We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our soft tissue referral service at Eden Vets. This referral service is provided by Georgina Timms BVSc PGCert SAS MRCVS and Horatio Marchis PGCert SAS MRCVS, both advanced practitioners in Small Animal Surgery. Their knowledge of routine and complex surgical cases stems from many years’ experience working within busy tier three first opinion and referral hospitals.
Our Soft Tissue Surgery Service offers management of all surgical conditions of the body other than the nervous and musculoskeletal system. Areas covered include ear, nose, and throat, cardiothoracic, hepatic, gastrointestinal, urogenital, skin reconstructive and oncological surgeries.
Eden Veterinary Referrals are proud of offer a team of highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practitioner Surgeons. They pride themselves on meeting the needs of referring vets, patients and their owners. With our extensive facilities, multi-disciplinary team and 24/7 nursing care, we can provide the essential critical care often required for complex soft tissue referrals.
As well as accepting routine surgical referrals, our soft tissue team plays a vital role in the management of many complex cases that require a multi-disciplinary approach ensuring that all animals receive the best treatment for the individual.

What can I Expect if my Pet is Referred to Soft Tissue Surgery?
Your pet may be directly referred by your general practice vet or they may be transferred from another department within our practice. Each visit will start with a detailed consultation, careful examination of the patient and an in-depth discussion about the findings and the plans for further investigation and treatment.
We are very fortunate to have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging facilities including digital radiography, in house CT scanning and visiting MRI. Our operating theatres are purpose built and equipped to the highest of standards, enabling our Surgeons to provide the best chance of a good outcome for our patients.
We can offer a comprehensive surgical referral service, including:
- ENT Surgery: BOAS, Stick injuries, Salivary Mucocoeles, TECA-BO/VBO, Thyroidectomy and Parathyroidectomy.
- Gastrointestinal surgery: Intestinal Foreign bodies, Septic peritonitis, Pancreatic, Gastric and colorectal surgeries to include Perineal hernia and Anal sacculectomy.
- Genitourinary Surgery; Urethral trauma, Cystotomy, Ectopic ureters and Urogenital neoplasia.
- Hepatobiliary surgery: External Portosystemic shunts, Liver Lobectomies, Extrahepatic biliary Obstruction, Liver biopsies, Cholecystectomy.
- Oncological Surgery: Maxillectomies/Mandibulectomies, Anal sacculectomy.
- Skin and reconstructive Surgery; Wound management, VAC wound dressings and Laser therapy.
- Thoracic Surgery; Pyo/pneumothorax, PDAs, Lung Lobectomies, Pericardiectomies and Peritoneal-Pericardial Diaphragmatic Hernia (PPDH).
