Emergency and Critical Care Services
The Emergency and Critical Care Services are the front line of emergency care at Eden Vets for Small Animals, working 24 hours a day to stabilise and treat critical patients.
Eden’s ECC service is supported by our dedicated team of Nurses and clinical support staff 24 hours a day, every day of the year providing the best possible care for your pet.
Our extensive in-house laboratory facilities, imaging facilities and advanced haemodynamic monitoring capabilities, allow for a rapid diagnosis to be made and treatment to be implemented. Close collaboration with other services within the hospital ensures that each patient always gets the best possible care.
Critical care cats and dogs will benefit from our multidisciplinary approach working with our Internal Medicine and Surgical teams to provide a nutritional support service as well as a full range of advanced procedures and therapies including central venous catheter, critical CRI treatments, feeding tubes (nasogastric, oesophagostomy), multimodal analgesia and vasopressor therapy.

Our Specialist-led Emergency and Critical Care service provides an unrivalled level of care for patients with any critical disorder including;
- Hemoabdomen
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis
- Sepsis
- Intra-thoracic pathology
- Urinary obstruction
- Acute Trauma Victims.
A member of our team is always available to help referring vets by phone. We are happy to both provide phone advice to referring veterinarians and accept emergency referrals at any time-of-day 24/7. We ask for all referring vets to contact us prior to referral to ensure patient are stable prior to travel.
