Soft Tissue Surgeon

Position: Soft Tissue Surgeon
Location: Eden Vets, Cheshire

Potential future partnership opportunities may also be considered for the right
candidate.

Eden Veterinary Referrals is a multi-disciplinary, advanced practitioner led veterinary
centre, just off Junction 16 of the M6, in the northwest of England. We boast services in
orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and diagnostic imaging as well as an
out-of- hours emergency service and associated rehabilitation team and visiting
cardiologists. Our independently owned practice prides itself on offering accessible,
flexible, and affordable care, and we are extremely passionate about our empathic-led
service.

With ongoing growth and success based on an outstanding reputation and a commitment
to clinical excellence, Eden Veterinary Referrals are looking to recruit a small animal
surgeon to work as part of our growing team.

ABOUT EDEN VETS
Our practice facilities include dedicated, separate, and spacious well-designed wards with
many walk-in dog kennels, a 16 slice Siemens Somatom CT, visiting MRI, digital
radiography, fluoroscopy, an Arthrex Arthroscopy unit, Celtic SMR Ultrasonography and
extensive flexible and rigid endoscopy units. We also provide regenerative medicine
therapies with an in-house companion animal centrifuge system. Our soft tissue theatres
are fully equipped with an ever-expanding range of instruments, multiple diathermy/coagulation units, complete monitoring and thermoregulation machines, a wide array of surgical staplers and vascular devices.
We encourage an evidence-based multi-disciplinary approach, supporting a process of
continuous learning and a collegiate atmosphere. Our growing clinical workload will
provide an interesting variety of cases.

ROLE OPPORTUNITIES
We are open to an array of applicants and therefore can offer different role opportunities
depending upon candidate experience:

• Certified Small Animal Surgeon with or working towards Advanced Practitioner
status. The candidate would work alongside our existing referral team. This role
would mainly be of a soft tissue bias with the option to perform orthopaedic
surgery should they wish. Candidates need to be proficient in the fundamentals of
soft tissue knowledge and surgery.

• Veterinary Surgeon undertaking a Small Animal Surgery Certificate. This
candidate would work both within our first opinion and referral teams, gaining
experience as they complete their certification. This role is aimed at a passionate
and capable surgeon, who wishes to enter the referral service sector. They would be
joining several Advanced Practitioner colleagues who would provide a supportive
and collaborative learning environment. Over time, the candidate would transition
into our referral team once certification has been achieved.

APPLICANTS
Applicants must be highly motivated, proactive, and passionate about delivering clinical
excellence, with excellent social and clinical skills. This is ideally a full-time role, though
applications are welcomed from part time candidates. Partnership opportunities may be
available in the future for the right candidate.
Eden Veterinary Referrals can offer a competitive salary between £55-80k dependent upon experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes a generous CPD allowance and paid CPD leave, 7 weeks’ holiday, payment of professional registration fees,
professional indemnity cover, health care plan and discount purchasing scheme.
