Welcome Edward Allsop

Since then, Edd has consolidated his knowledge and surgical skills by performing a wide range of complex surgical procedures as lead surgeon. With a specific interest in Orthopaedics, Edd performs both routine and complex orthopaedic cases, while his empathetic manner and dedication to ensuring client understanding ensures he will be popular with our clients.

Edd is a welcome addition to our orthopaedic team, where he will work alongside our other skilled orthopaedic surgeons, Horatio Marchis and Georgina Timms, ensuring that we can continue to provide all of our patients with outstanding care.

Orthopaedic facilities

An important part of orthopaedic referral work is the use of diagnostic imaging, which is essential for diagnosing orthopaedic conditions and injuries, as well as for assessing the success of surgical procedures and monitoring the healing process. Here at Eden Veterinary Referrals, our orthopaedic team have access to all the latest diagnostic services, from digital radiography to arthroscopy and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, enabling us to provide our patients with the highest level of care.

Diagnostic facilities available at Eden Veterinary Referrals

  • Digital Radiography
  • CT Scanner
  • MRI Scanner
  • Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound
  • Arthroscopy

Our orthopaedic team work closely with our diagnostic imagers so we can get top-quality diagnostic information for our patients. This enables our orthopaedic surgeons to accurately diagnose challenging orthopaedic cases, including lameness that is difficult to localise. Diagnostic imaging is also vital when developing treatment plans tailored to each pet, so clients can make an informed decision about their pet’s treatment and understand their pet’s prognosis.

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound is a modern technology, only available for small animals in limited locations throughout the UK. However, here at Eden Veterinary Referrals, we are proud to be one of the few veterinary practices that can offer MSK ultrasound to all our canine patients who will benefit from it.

MSK ultrasound is a cutting-edge imaging modality that is invaluable for diagnosing canine soft tissue injuries, so makes up an important part of many lameness investigations. It is also an essential tool that can be used to guide regenerative medicine treatment and for monitoring a patient’s rehabilitation.

Benefits of MSK ultrasound

  • Non-invasive with no radiation risks for the patient
  • Affordable
  • Essential for diagnosing tendon and ligament injuries
  • Quick to perform
